John Lennon was no Schubert reincarnated

Editor: My take on the Beatles is that they served as spokespeople for millions and millions worldwide who decided simultaneously that civilization needed to go into a state of decline.

A really strong desire for peace achieves its objectives no more than a longing for a Super Bowl appearance and victory puts rings on the fingers of football players.

In invoking the football connection, the late Pat Tillman is far more of a hero than John Lennon ever will be.

Those who claim Lennon was the greatest song writer of all time or legion. Have they never heard of Franz Schubert? Or, how about Irving Berlin?

Most intriguing of all is that Lennon came into this world about the time that his countryman (and former British Prime Minister) Neville Chamberlain left it.

Mayber there is something to the theory of reincarnation.
