Picture isn't negative

Editor: Daniel Wells' recent letter with its implication that terrorism wouldn't be as bad if Saddam Hussein were still in power, and the reference to the murdering insurgents in Iraq as freedom fighters reads like a letter written by a Michael Moore groupie. Wells also blames government officials President Bush his obvious target - for painting a rosy picture on the war on terror. That is straight out of the liberal John Kerry's talking points. Kerry is trying to become president based on painting a negative picture in Iraq.

I am one who is grateful to have Saddam out of power. Mass graves containing thousands of bodies are no longer being produced in Iraq. Millions of Iraqi people are grateful to be out from under the murdering rule of a latter 20th century version of Adolf Hitler. Tongues are not being cut out, hands are not being cut off and bodies are no longer being thrown off four-story roofs. And WMD are no longer a possibility in Iraq.

Thankfully, Wells lives in a country where his opinion can be expressed without fear of, to use his term, a freedom fighter beheading him. Remember, our troops are in Iraq fighting for that freedom for the Iraqis.
