Dear Ms. Feinstein:

I have long been a proponent of a large majority of the issues you have championed, but after reading an editorial this morning regarding your proposal of a 2-drink limit on domestic flights, I am beginning to wonder whether senility is beginning to take its toll with you as it seems to have with Ms. Ann Landers, given her outrageous responses of late.

Your argument that a flawed plan is better than no plan sounds a bit too much like Big Brother to me.

Rather than punishing the many for the actions of a few, why not instill the stiff penalties/fines to attempt to thwart dangerous actions, before the outrageous, knee-jerk response of saying no children can play on the playground because Johnny hit Jimmy on the head while playing on the playground - thus if no one is allowed on the playground, no head hitting can occur there.

The stiff fines/penalties approach is still a plan that is better than no plan, but does not punish me for merely being on the playground.

Sincerely,
Daniel Wells
