One barb about a grievous incident overshadows numerous bouquets that are being given out this week by the Tracy Press editorial board.
BARB: To internet surfers who have defaced the musicforjefferson.org Web site during the past few months. Dan Wells, who established the site in March 2002, after learning of the Jefferson School District board's intent to remove funding for primary music education, says 61 bogus names had been posted during the past several months on the site' petition to keep the elementary music program in the classrooms. But a March 10 posteng went far beyond a childish prank. Wells says the name of Roy Troglia, the late Jefferson band director, was entered – after his death. Says Wells, "Not only is this behavior pathetic and not funny, it has now become sick." We agree.
