Editor: It has come to my attention that some of the political signs posted around town are being vandalized or stolen. Having endured the expenditure of funds and time to post signs during my own campaign, I can attest to the unnecessary additional expense created by this behavior.
I am aware of several instances in particular that signs for Jefferson School Board candidates Michael Tassano and Laura Hagler have been found mutilated or missing, although I know of no such instances that signs for incumbents Pete Carlson and Debbie [Scott -] Wingo have been mistreated.
I would like to offer that to whomever feels the need to unfairly influence the coming election results, if you are not confident that the candidates you support can succeed based only on their own merit and not without your meddling, you may wish to reconsider your choice of candidates.
